KOLOA, Hawaii — In this video from Orthopedics Today Hawaii, Anthony A. Romeo, MD, spoke about several practice management options from private equity to partnerships that allow physicians to focus on patient care.
“Our first loyalty has to be to the patient. We have to keep them at the center. Everybody is looking at the finances, the growth [and] everything else. We have to keep the patient at the center,” Romeo, who is Chief Medical Editor of Orthopedics Today, said. “Just beyond that is our peers, ourselves and others that are providing that care. And then from there we can figure out: What’s the right partner and how do we maintain practice to allow us to take the best care of patients? That’s going to be a tricky answer over the next few years,” Romeo added.
