EyeEco expands at-home dry eye treatment line

LAS VEGAS – EyeEco announced the addition of several new patented products to its line of products focused on at-home eye hydration here at Vision Expo West.

TranquilVibes with Thermoeyes combines an at-home moist heat treatment with vibration, EyeEco CEO and founder, Suzanne Paulson told Primary Care Optometry News.

Randy Peters, OD, an optometrist who collaborated with Paulson on this product, said in company literature that he believes adding vibration to the company’s moist heat goggles may help facilitate gland expression and more evenly distribute the tear film.

Paulson told PCON that the TranquilVibes pack includes enough Instants, gel packs that provide instant heat with a click; liners; and a mask to provide 1,000 treatments.

Also new at the show was the EyeCloud, a kit that contains a set of goggles, reusable Instants gel packs, reusable bead pack and cotton liners.

Paulson explained that this full face mask, which was originally developed as a prep for other in-office procedures, heats the lid margin and is available for patients to use at home.

Both products consistently provide 20 minutes of controlled moist heat, between 102°F and 110°F, the company said.

Paulson noted that all patients receive complimentary e-mail follow-ups in the event they have any questions after purchasing the products.

Dry eye is a progressive disease,” she told PCON. She intends for her products to help patients, “maintain what they’ve got.” – by Nancy Hemphill, ELS, FAAO
