CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from the AAO meeting, Savak Teymoorian, MD, MBA, discusses the benefits of interventional glaucoma.

“This is simply intervening for our patients using drops as a bridge from one intervention to the next,” he said. “The reason why this is important is we know patients really value their vision. You are the guardian of their vision. In fact, you wouldn’t be surprised if you hear, ‘Hey doc, I would rather die than go blind.’”

Teymoorian highlighted the utility of iDose TR (travoprost intracameral implant, Glaukos) to treat glaucoma.

“I appreciate seeing pressure reductions that sustain over a period of time without having to deal with problems with drops,” Teymoorian said. “Most importantly, my patients are happy.”
