VIDEO: AI’s role in geographic atrophy treatment continues to grow
CHICAGO — In this Healio Video Perspective from Eyecelerator@AAO, Sharon Bakalash, MD, PhD, CBA, of Astellas Ophthalmics, discusses the company’s pipeline for geographic atrophy as well as AI’s growing role in treating the condition.
At the meeting, Astellas organized a panel of ophthalmic companies to discuss how AI can be utilized to benefit geographic atrophy research.
“We are doing this as a pharma company because we felt that there is a need to collate the whole community to find the solutions for this disease,” Bakalash said.
She also highlighted Astellas’ plans for the global launch of Izervay (avacincaptad pegol intravitreal solution).
