FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Retina World Congress, Paulo E. Stanga, MD, shares the benefits of the Silverstone device with ultra-widefield OCT angiography.

According to Stanga, the Silverstone device (Optos) allows ophthalmologists to obtain ultra-widefield fundus fluorescein angiography or indocyanine green angiography with simultaneous central or peripheral navigated OCT.

“This is new technology and very useful in our daily clinical practice, especially in the assessment of patients with retinal vasculopathies like diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion or choroidal lesions, for example, in uveitis,” he said. “We can assess whether there is traction, we can assess whether there is retinal thinning, and we can assess whether there is intra- or subretinal fluid and correlate those findings with the angiographic findings.”
