FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — In this Healio Video Perspective from the Retina World Congress, David Almeida, MD, MBA, PhD, discusses combating gene therapy-associated uveitis.

According to Almeida, gene therapy associated-uveitis may cause severe inflammation in patients, which limits their ability to participate in clinical trials.

“I think as more and more gene therapy platforms become potential platforms for a mainstay of treatment, these will be the critical things we need to mitigate to avoid adverse events,” he said.
