A Boston-area developer of brain-computer interface technology and a Canadian biotech firm have announced a collaboration to globally commercialize the former’s brain health tools.

According to a release from Neurable Inc., its partnership with Healthspan Digital Inc. seeks to provide precision health and longevity clinics with cutting-edge brain span technology.

“We are thrilled to partner with Healthspan Digital Inc. to bring our advanced brain health tools to precision health and longevity clinics,” Neurable CEO Ramses Alcaide, PhD, said in the release. “Our vision is to empower individuals to achieve their full potential by optimizing brain health and performance, and this collaboration marks a significant step towards realizing that vision.”

Neurable’s brain-computer interface technology utilizes electroencephalogram activity to create a layer between the brain and computers. Powered by signal processing developed at the University of Michigan, the operating system platform enables high-performance brain-computer interfaces in everyday devices, the company said.

“I am incredibly excited about the potential impact of our collaboration with Neurable Inc.,” Healthspan founder and CEO Fady Hannah-Shmouni, MD, FRCPC, said in the release. “This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to empower our Healthspan programs with advanced brain health tools.”
