CHICAGO – Ray Dorsey, MD, MBA, neurology professor at the University of Rochester, discusses a presentation he gave on environmental risk factors that may be associated with Parkinson’s disease at ANA 2022.
Dorsey argued that Parkinson’s disease is not only man-made but is also due to toxic compounds that have been synthesized over the last 50 years. Therefore, Dorsey says it is a preventable disease.
“If we address these environmental risk factors — better understand their contributions to Parkinson’s disease — then we can imagine a world where Parkinson’s disease is again rare,” Dorsey said.
