Pamela Kunz, MD, said she became interested in joining the Women in Oncology Peer Perspective Board because the initiative can provide a platform for women to share experiences and advance research.
“I felt really alone when I was going through my own experiences,” Kunz said, referring to instances of gender discrimination and harassment. “I’m interested in promoting research into gender disparities in academic medicine and have started some of that research myself. I think this could also serve as a platform to bring women together to think about what initiatives or gaps there are in this field of research.”
