Pamela Kunz, MD, provides two pieces of advice for women starting in oncology that she wishes she had known as a trainee and during her time as a junior faculty member.
First, no single mentor can serve all your needs, and it is important to develop a mentor network that includes individuals inside and outside of your institution – or even outside of your specialty. Second, allow your values and principles to drive your choices and what matters to you in building your career.
