VIDEO: Many pathways to diabetes remission
SAN DIEGO — In this video exclusive, Richard Pratley, MD, discusses diabetes remission and the need for more information and clinical trials to understand the impact of remission on long-term outcomes.
Pratley is the Samuel E. Crockett Chair in Diabetes Research, medical director of AdventHealth Diabetes Institute and a Healio | Endocrine Today Co-editor.
Although the definition of diabetes remission is still unsettled, “this is a thing,” Pratley told Healio. “It does happen in many people, there are many pathways to get to remission, and there are different [lengths of] times people can stay in remission.”
