BOSTON — In this video exclusive, Barbara A. Cohn, PhD, director of the Child Health and Development Studies at the Public Health Institute, discusses her presentation on endocrine disrupting chemicals and multigenerational health consequences.

In her presentation, Cohn used data from the Child Health and Development Studies cohort, which followed more than 20,000 pregnancies for more than 56 years, for proof-of-concept that environmental chemicals can disrupt the functions of hormones in humans.

“In 1960 we took blood from these women during their pregnancies, so we have a virtual archive of what the fetus was exposed to during gestation and what the mother was exposed to during pregnancy,” Cohn said.
