Treatment Options
In this video, Saakshi Khattri, MBBS, MD, reported that the greatest area of unmet needs for patients with psoriatic disease is figuring out which patients with psoriasis will eventually progress to psoriatic arthritis.
“We have so many options to treat our patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthrtis, and to figure out which option will work for a patient and make sure there isn't a primary lack of response or secondary loss of efficacy is the next frontier in treating psoriatic diseases,” said Khattri, assistant professor of dermatology, rheumatology and internal medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Psoriasis has three categories of treatment options: topical, phototherapy and systemic. The infographics below outline the different options in these categories.
