In this video, Priya J. Bansal, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, shares what brings her joy as an allergist as part of Healio’s Women in Allergy video corner series.

“For myself, I would say it’s being a part of that change for the patient. I can see it in their eyes when they come back in and we’ve had a successful treatment plan and they say they feel so much better,” Bansal, allergist and immunologist at Asthma and Allergy Wellness Center in Saint Charles, Illinois, faculty member at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine, and consulting medical editor for Healio’s Women in Allergy, said.

Bansal said treating a patient also brings her closer to their family.

“We end up seeing the whole family unit in terms of the kids, the patient, maybe their grandparents, aunts, uncles, so you feel like you’re a part of their family and [are] helping to make their lives better,” she added.
