In this video, Priya J. Bansal, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, asks Julie Wang, MD, how she “does it all” as a physician and mother, as part of Healio’s Women in Allergy video corner series.

It is better to think of this concept as “work-life integration,” not work-life balance, Wang, professor of pediatrics in the division of allergy and immunology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, told Bansal, who serves as the consulting medical editor of Healio’s Women in Allergy.

Wang said she thinks about the different aspects of her life — such as work, family and personal goals — and determines which need to take priority each week.

“I look at the big picture and then in each of the different categories I consider what is most important, and then kind of slot them together as a big puzzle,” Wang said.
