CHICAGO — In this video interview with Healio, Stephanie Faubion, MD, MBA, FACP, NCMP, IF, highlights recent research on women’s health, which she discussed during her presentation here.

“Specifically, we’re going to review some potential practice-changing papers that have come up in women’s health in the last year,” said Faubion, who is the director of the Mayo Clinic Center for Women’s Health in Jacksonville, Florida, and the medical director of NAMS.

In her talk, Faubion discussed studies that suggest genetic testing should be performed in all women with triple negative breast cancer.

“That really revolves around an adjuvant olaparib trial for patients with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutated breast cancer,” she said.

She also presented studies with implications for osteoporosis screenings and the continuation of cervical cancer screening past 65 years of age.

Additionally, Faubion said that recent research has elucidated changes in the late reproductive age, “even before [women] start having cycle length irregularities.”
