LimaCorporate announced it received FDA approval for its shoulder platform with a fully 3D-printed glenoid baseplate and humeral stem for reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

Aimed at improving operating room efficiency, the system (PRIMA) consists of a novel 3D-printed convertible short stem and a fully 3D-printed glenoid replacement, and is intended to provide strong primary fixation and proven secondary bone ingrowth, according to a company press release.

The system, which includes the company’s Trabecular Titanium technology, allows the operator to move more easily between baseplate designs and address different pathologies, according to the release.

“The new PRIMA shoulder platform will support our surgeons to bring the emotion of motion to even more patients," Massimo Calafiore, CEO of LimaCorporate, said in the release.
