Boston Children’s Hospital was named the top hospital for pediatric orthopedics in the 2022 to 2023 rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

According to a U.S. News & World Report press release, Boston Children’s Hospital topped the 16th annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, which included 50 children’s orthopedic hospitals. Scores were based on the success of each hospital with treating complex fractures, scoliosis, spina bifida and sports injuries in pediatric patients. Additionally, the 2022 to 2023 rankings are the first to include new measures for diversity, equity and inclusion, according to the release.

Rady Children’s Hospital, Children’s Medical Center Dallas-Texas Scottish Rite for Children, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center rounded out the top five of the orthopedics rankings. Boston Children’s Hospital also claimed the top spot on the 2022 to2023 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for being highly ranked in multiple specialties.

“Choosing the right hospital for a sick child is a critical decision for many parents. The Best Children’s Hospitals rankings spotlight hospitals that excel in specialized care, offering parents and their pediatricians a helpful starting point in choosing the facility that’s best for their child,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News & World Report, said in the release. “Recognizing that hospitals with inclusive and equitable cultures perform better, this year we added a new measure assessing hospitals’ efforts to improve the equity of care provided and to promote diversity and inclusion among clinicians and staff,” Harder added.
