Carbon22, a company of GLW Inc., has received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the Creed cannulated screw system, a series of ortholucent bone screws for use in foot and ankle surgery, according to a press release.

The Creed cannulated screw portfolio includes a variety of novel headed and headless compression screws in a range of lengths. The screws are designed with radiotranslucent properties to improve visualization, according to the release.

“Unlike surgical systems that are used repeatedly in hundreds of surgical procedures, Carbon22’s Creed System ensures that every patient is treated with a sterile, single-use implant and new instruments functioning at their peak condition,” Axel Cremer, chief technology officer for Carbon22, said in the release.
