Mark E. Easley, MD, FAAOS, performed total ankle arthroplasty, double arthrodesis and foot realignment/stabilization in a 72-year-old man with stage 4 flatfoot deformity.
Intraoperatively, varus/valgus stability is shown and there is no gapping with valgus stress. Despite minimal bone resection, the largest primary polyethylene thickness available was used to balance the patient’s ankle.
