Healio LIVE announced Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021, which was scheduled for January 2021 in Maui, Hawaii, will be rescheduled to later in the year.
Based on the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the United States and globally, meeting organizers said the safety of attendees, faculty and industry was their first priority. Moving the in-person meeting to later in the year makes it safer for all and more viable as warmer weather and the introduction of vaccines now in development are expected to help curb the virus.
“With the recent spike in cases, it has become too difficult to guarantee the safety of everyone involved in the meeting. And while Maui continues to have one of the lowest incidences of the virus in the country, we recognize that it is unlikely that the current outbreak will be under control by January. We’re looking ahead and evolving our practice and business models. We hope you can join us over our new dates as we learn to innovate, elevate and adapt so that we can continue to succeed in a new environment,” Anthony A. Romeo, MD, program director of Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021, said in a press release.
The final dates and location for Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2021 will be announced soon. Dates are pending finalization with hotel partners.
Pre-registrants of the meeting will be contacted by Healio LIVE meeting registration once dates have been confirmed. Attendees do not need to cancel their hotel reservations at this time.
