A young patient with “snapping” on the lateral aspect of her symptomatic knee is shown intraoperatively.
The physical exam revealed no malalignment, minimal knee effusion and tenderness along the lateral joint line. In addition, the patient had full knee range of motion of 0° to 130°. However, she had “popping” that was associated with pain and swelling, which prevented her from playing soccer.
