Comprehensive Review Course 2020 overviews essentials in orthopaedics, traumatology

Based on the positive feedback and huge interest from all previous years, the EFORT Comprehensive Review Course is currently considered as one of the basic steps of the orthopaedics and traumatology training.
It is also a paramount 1-day exercise to prepare a typical interim assessment. The high attendance to the different specialty sessions and interest raised in the Comprehensive Review Course (CRC) educational support documents are additional reasons why it has become a constant component of our annual meetings.
The 2020 edition of the CRC is scheduled for Wednesday 10 June 2020 aims once again at providing the core theoretical knowledge expected from any orthopaedics and traumatology (O&T) trainee at the end of his/her specialty curriculum. The course is also a convenient way for experienced and senior surgeons or consultants to obtain an update of current practices and state-of-the-art information that encompasses the whole specialty and is linked to the most common musculoskeletal conditions.
This 1-day course is an outline of all topics of expertise which cannot be exhaustive due to time restriction. Opened to a 200-participant group, this course consists of 20 presentations that cover the following sub-categories:

This detailed program proved to deliver broad enough and well-balanced scientific content, which is complemented by the interactivity of the audience.
The criteria for selecting the speakers are therefore not limited to having a high professional qualification within each topic, but also include the necessity of a lively speaking style and the use of great pedagogic visual sketches. Indeed, a specific publication is produced to go with the educational content of this full-day course: the CRC syllabus, which gathers full manuscripts on each presented topic. This publication is distributed to all registered CRC delegates and strengthens the learning experience by providing key references and illustrations that endorse the content of the presentations. Moreover, each chapter includes three to five questions under the multiple choice questions exam format to give specific examples of questions one encounters during an interim assessment.
Importantly, the compact structure of the CRC allows participants to attend also other specialized sessions during the following 2 days of the congress. A special registration package ensures participants benefit from this combined educational planning. The CRC can also be booked alone. The fee includes educational material and a lunch offered on-site.
As pre-registration is mandatory, young orthopaedic surgeons and residents in training are invited to visit the online registration platform as of 8 January 2020 to seize the opportunity to attend the most complete and quick recap of O&T knowledge in Europe.
