The Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the International Cartilage Repair Society and the Orthoregeneration Network Foundation have collaborated to form the Biologics Alliance, which will discuss all issues on musculoskeletal biologics and regenerative medicine.
According to a press release, the Biologics Alliance will hold its first summit in Carlsbad, California, on Feb. 6-7, 2020. The conference will include discussions on the state of biologic therapies, regulatory processes, and implications and clinical applications.
According to the release, the Biologics Alliance hopes to develop reporting standards and research to assist patients and physicians to understand the clinical applications of biologic therapies.
“The [Biologics Alliance] BA aims to advocate for the responsible use of biologics in clinical practice, lead in the development of biologic standards, and report on the safety and efficacy of biologic interventions,” Bert Mandelbaum, MD, Biologics Alliance co-chair, said in the release.
