ORLANDO — At the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Christopher M. Larson, MD, discussed a study that compared arthroscopic debridement vs. refixation of the acetabular labrum in patients with femoroacetabular impingement. At the 7-year follow-up, patient-reported outcomes dropped in both groups, but the disparity increased in favor of the labral preservation. Larson said it is important to maintain the labrum for longevity of the hips.
