VIDEO: Highly crosslinked polyethylene bearings for THA effective after long-term follow-up
ORLANDO — At the Current Concepts in Joint Replacement Winter Meeting, Jeffrey B. Stambough, MD, discussed a study that looked at long-term outcomes of two consecutive groups of patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty with either conventional polyethylene or highly crosslinked polyethylene bearings. He said after a 15-year follow-up, highly crosslinked polyethylene bearings were an effective solution after patients younger than 50 years old underwent THA.
