EFORT

During the EFORT Annual Congress 2018, which was held in Barcelona from 30 May to 1 June 2018, Medacta International introduced the Clinical Research Fellowship Programme to the orthopaedics and traumatology community. In October 2018, the EFORT Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship, supported by Medacta International, was launched.

The current research topic is: A personalized precision approach to surgery of the osteoarthritic knee.

Every year, one special fellow (the clinical research fellow) will visit a selected host center at which a clinical research process is ongoing. The research fellow will be guided through the research process from the development of a hypothesis to data collection, manuscript writing, and presentation at national and international orthopaedic conferences. Topics of focus can include hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasty.

Call for applications is currently open and will close at the end of December 2018.

Final decisions are communicated to the applicants in February 2019. The fellowship will start in September 2019 and last for 12 months.
