VIDEO: Presenter discusses incidence, risk factors for hospital transfers after orthopedic surgery at an ASC

NEW ORLEANS — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Joseph A. Bosco III, MD, spoke about a study that looked at the incidence and risk of unplanned hospital transfers after patients underwent orthopedic surgery at an ASC.  He said one in 1,000 patients were readmitted to a hospital and primary risk factors included obesity, uncontrolled diabetes and open surgery.
