NEW ORLEANS — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Marilyn M. Heng, MD, MPH, FRCSC, said orthopedic surgeons need to move toward a more objective and rational use of prescribing opioids for patients who undergo surgery for orthopedic trauma.
