Paragon 28 launches screw system to treat Charcot foot deformity

Paragon 28 has launched the Joust beaming screw system, which offers 220 beam options to address Charcot foot deformity.

According to a company press release, the Joust is made up of 5-mm, 5.5-mm and 7.2-mm solid and cannulated beams that are type II anodized Ti64AI-4V for improved fatigue strength. The system comes with partially threaded and fully threaded options for either compression or increased thread purchase depending on the surgical requirements and anatomy.

Instrumentation is included to help with placement of the K-wire down the center of the intramedullary canal of the medial column. The Precision guide, which is patent pending, assists in positioning of the K-wire and may reduce intraoperative fluoroscopy time. Surgeons may use the Precision guide combined with the straddle plate and medial column beam to avoid interference between the plate screws and the beam.
