CMS recently updated the frequently asked questions document of the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model to reflect recent changes made in November 2017.

The changes include the reduction of mandatory graphic areas participating in the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Model from 67 areas to 34 areas, as well as voluntary participation for all low-volume and rural hospitals in the 67 areas. The document also addresses the removal of total knee arthroplasty from the inpatient-only list and how this may affect target prices in the CJR. According to a CMS spokesperson, the frequently asked questions document provides further information and guidance about the CJR.
