The CORE Institute adds J. Tracy Watson, MD to its team

The CORE Institute announced fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon J. Tracy Watson, MD, has joined its team.

 

According to a press release from the institute, Watson has been recognized as one of America’s Best Doctors for 13 consecutive years.

 

“Dr. Watson is an internationally respected and distinguished orthopedic surgeon who will bring an advanced understanding of orthopedic trauma to The CORE Institute,” Jason Scalise, MD, vice chairman at The CORE Institute, said in the release. “He remains a consistent leader in orthopedic trauma and will be a valuable addition for our patients who suffer from fractures, amputations and complex limb deformities.”

Prior to The CORE Institute, Watson was professor of orthopedic surgery, chief of orthopedic trauma service and orthopedic surgery service line chief at St. Louis University. He also held positions at the Cleveland Clinic and Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Watson has received many awards, has been published on various trauma-related topics and has lectured nationally and internationally on research in orthobiologics, fracture biomechanics and deformity correction.

Watson will be based at the Orthopedic and Spine Institute located at the Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.
