EFORT

Judging by all the received comments from past editions, the EFORT Comprehensive Review Course is nowadays widely considered as a basic step in orthopaedic training. The high attendance and early interest raised by this educational program are additional reasons why it has become a constant component of our annual meetings.

This new edition of the Comprehensive Review Course (CRC) scheduled for Wednesday 31 May 2018 aims at providing the core theoretical knowledge expected from any orthopaedic and traumatology (O&T) trainee at the end of his or her specialty curriculum. The course is also a convenient way for experienced and senior surgeons or consultants to obtain an update of current practices and state-of-the-art information that encompasses the field of orthopaedics and traumatology.

This detailed program proved to deliver a wide-enough and well-balanced scientific content, complemented by the interactivity of the audience.

The criteria for selecting the speakers are therefore not limited to having a high professional qualification within each topic but include the necessity of a lively speaking style and the use of great pedagogic visual sketches. A specific publication is produced to go with the educational content of this full-day course: the CRC syllabus, which contains full manuscripts on each presented topic. This publication, distributed to all registered CRC delegates, strengthens the learning experience by providing key references and illustrations that endorse the content of the presentations. Moreover, each chapter includes three to five questions under the MCQ exam format that provide specific examples of questions faced during an interim assessment.
