AAOS launches redesigned consumer website
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons announced the redesign of its consumer website about bone and joint health OrthoInfo.org.
According to a press release, the website offers more than 525 consumer articles, videos and interactive learning modules on musculoskeletal conditions. OrthoInfo provides customers with new illustrations and multimedia resources and is more organized by body part and popular topics. The mobile design of the site makes it convenient for viewing on a phone or tablet.
“The new OrthoInfo empowers patients by helping them to better understand their conditions, find answers to questions and prepare for surgical procedures — anytime, anywhere,” AAOS President William J. Maloney, MD, said in the release. “In addition, OrthoInfo is an important in-office resource and tool for our orthopedic surgeon members, reflecting the academy’s commitment to providing optimal patient care.”
Visitors to the website can enlarge images, use email or social media to share content and resources and can search and access content related to a musculoskeletal condition, treatment and recovery. Orthopedic surgeons can use the website as a tool for enhancing patient care. Experts in orthopedic surgery review OrthoInfo articles and resources to ensure content is accurate and reflects the latest in orthopedic research.
