NEW ORLEANS — At the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Annual Meeting, Luke S. Austin, MD, said education about opioid consumption for patients who underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair significantly impacted use of narcotics after surgery. He noted patients stopped using narcotics earlier and used fewer pills compared with patients who did not receive such education.
