Mortise Medical announced it has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its LigaMetrics suture anchor system, according to a company press release.

The system is reportedly the first and only knotless suture anchor to offer measured tension control of the suture repair construct. The suture anchor is designed to connect to and lock suture tape attached to the soft tissue or a conventional suture anchor. Once the selected tension is achieved, the torque-controlled locking feature of the suture anchor is engaged and locks the suture tape to the anchor, which reportedly eliminates the need for knot tying.
