DePuy Synthes announced it has been awarded a national contract with the U.S. Department of Defense for its orthopedic products, according to a company press release.

Under the contract, DePuy Synthes will supply the Defense Logistics Agency’s electronic catalog (ECAT) of medical products with up to $260 million worth of orthopedic products.

“Our commitment to U.S. military servicemen, women and their families has spanned more than a century, and we are excited to continue that commitment by bringing our innovative orthopedic products to U.S. military medical treatment facilities worldwide through the ECAT system,” Juan-José Gonzalez, president of DePuy Synthes, U.S., said in the release. “ECAT not only creates a more efficient online purchasing system, but it also enables us to deliver on our promise to provide products and capabilities that help to improve overall care and increase patient satisfaction.”
