The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery recently appointed orthopedic spine surgeon Jeffrey Goldstein, MD, FACS, as president of the society.

According to a press release from the society, Goldstein has been a member of the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery since 2002 and has been a member of its board of directors since 2011. At New York University’s (NYU) Langone Medical Center, Department of Orthopedics, he is chief of the Spine Service for Education Program and the director of the Spine Fellowship Program. Goldstein is a clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at NYU’s School of Medicine.

Goldstein is on the editorial and advisory boards for The Spine Journal and The International Journal of Spine Surgery and is on the reviewer board for Spine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons, and is board certified in orthopedic surgery. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Cervical Spine Research Society, the International Society for Study of the Lumbar Spine, the Scoliosis Research Society, the American Orthopaedic Association and the Lumbar Spine Research Society.
