SAN DIEGO — At the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, Jon J.P. Warner, MD, discussed the role of computer-assisted 3-D modeling for preoperative planning of shoulder arthroplasty. He said virtual planning will reduce the costs of inventory, time in the OR and the overall cost of care.

Warner said there will be value in this for stakeholders, hospitals, government, society, patients, surgeons and vendors. He noted more surgeons are interested in understanding this new technology.
