VIDEO: Speaker discusses patients' return to daily activity after meniscectomy

SAN DIEGO   James N. Gladstone, MD, spoke about a study that looked at how long it took patients to return to daily activities and stop narcotics and other pain medications after meniscectomy. He said it took patients 7 days to get off narcotics and 2 weeks to get off over-the-counter pain medications. They returned to work within 2 weeks and after 15 days they could drive a car, he said. With these data and more, surgeons will be able to give patients guidelines on how they can expect to do following meniscectomy.
