Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush announced Antonia Zaferiou, PhD, as its new director of motion analysis for its division of sports medicine.

According to a press release, Zaferiou will be responsible for overseeing orthopedic and sports medicine research in the motion analysis lab. Her research uses mechanical principles to study how people move during activities of daily living and during athletic activities, with an aim to develop technology and clinical interventions to improve movement mechanics and reduce the risk of injury.

Antonia Zaferiou

Zaferiou received her PhD from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California in 2015 and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan before joining Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush.
