LAHAINA, Hawaii — At Orthopedics Today Hawaii 2017, Frank A. Liporace, MD, discussed treatment of ankle fractures. He said the posterior malleolus is important for stability of the tibiotalar joint and of the syndesmosis. Also, there is a need for anatomic reduction of the syndesmosis after stabilization with either screws or with a suture fixation device.
