LAHAINA, Hawaii — Mark A. Mighell, MD discussed ways to best use platform systems in shoulder arthroplasty.

“I have a lot of excitement about platform systems because removing stems is difficult at times, and it can cause a lot of injury to the patient. If we have a way that we can build upon what we have already done, it would save time in the operating room; it would save cost; and it would [a] save tremendous amount of blood loss for the patient,” he said.
