Judging by the positive comments received when the EFORT Comprehensive Review Course was offered in the past, it is widely considered to be a basic step in orthopaedic training. There is typically early interest in the course and it is well-attended, which are additional reasons why the Comprehensive Review Course has become a constant component of the EFORT Annual Congresses.
A new edition of the Comprehensive Review Course (CRC) is scheduled to be held on Friday, 2 June 2017. It aims, once again, to provide the core theoretical knowledge that is expected to be known by all orthopaedic and traumatology trainees at the end of their specialty curriculum. The course is also a way for experienced and senior surgeons to obtain an update on current practices and receive state-of-the-art information from throughout the field of orthopaedics and traumatology.
Because this is a 1-day course and the time allotted for it is thereby limited, it should be viewed more as an outline of key topics rather than an exhaustive educational program. The course is open 120 participants and consists of about 20 presentations that address the following subcategories:

At previous EFORT Congresses, this type of detailed program proved to deliver scientific content that was sufficiently broad and well-balanced. It was complemented by the interactions that took place during the portion of the program dedicated to audience participation.
Speakers who are selected to present during the CRC must have high professional qualifications within each topic and a lively speaking style and should use effective pedagogic visual sketches. A publication that includes a collection of the full manuscripts on each presented topic during the course — the CRC Syllabus — is distributed to all registered CRC delegates. It helps reinforce the learning experience with the key references and illustrations it contains that are related to the course content and presentations. Therefore, the key information from the CRC can be accessed by participants long after the conclusion of the course.
Importantly, the compact structure of the CRC allows participants to attend other specialized sessions during the first 2 days of the EFORT Annual Congress. There is a special registration package that allows participants to benefit from this type of combined educational planning for a fee as low as EUR 300, if they meet the deadline for early registration.
The CRC also can be booked alone for EUR 135, which includes the CRC Syllabus and lunch on Friday, 2 June.
Preregistration for the CRC is mandatory. Young orthopaedic surgeons and residents in training should visit the EFORT online registration platform to ensure they are registered in enough time to attend the most complete recap of orthopaedic and traumatology knowledge available in Europe. The course is limited to 120 attendees and space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register now.
