Stryker introduced Ascential, an implant and delivery solution for lower acuity spinal procedures in the ambulatory surgery center and hospital settings, at the North American Spine Society Annual Meeting in Boston.

Intended to provide operational efficiencies, competitive pricing and reduced operating costs, Ascential offers a portfolio of newly designed sterile-packaged implants, customized service levels and a streamlined distribution model, according to a company press release. Enabled with optional end-to-end radio-frequency identification inventory management, the release noted sales representatives and facility staff can monitor and manage inventory preoperatively, postoperatively and intra-operatively to help reduce labor costs and ensure implant availability. It can be customized for facilities based on an analysis of the number of spine cases, surgical days, number of surgeons and other variables and priorities, according to the release.

Products available with Ascential include the ACP 1 Anterior Cervical Plating System, the IBD PeekC Anterior Cervical Spacer System and the VBA Vitoss Foam Pack, the release noted, with all implants in sterile packaging to reduce the sterilization burden and chance of infection.
