In this video from Open Operating Theatre, Prof. Henry Halm, MD, of Schön Klinik Neustadt, Germany, operates on a young patient with a right-side semi-segmented hemivertebra using transpedicular resection and instrumented fusion.

Halm used neuromonitoring to check the relationship between the pedicle screws and the nerve roots and spinal cord, and obtained nearly complete correction of the congenital deformity.

The video is a teaching tool to help surgeons prepare for surgery or they can use it as refresher on the surgical technique and indications for this surgery.
