Abstract submission for the 18th EFORT Congress in Vienna will be open on Thursday 15 September 2016. It is time for all the members of the orthopaedic and trauma community to prepare summaries of their studies and send us their results for possible integration in the scientific program for the upcoming meeting.
Sharing your work with us is one of the best ways to perfect your medical practice. Why?
You will learn
EFORT aims to provide worthy scientific guidance via the presentation of well-established medical techniques, but also to highlight new evidence in emerging fields. Renowned experts will discuss their procedures, the rationale for their decisions, their successes and failures. At the Congress, an important source of international knowledge and experience in the prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system will be within your reach. Seize the opportunity to identify new data related to your specialty and gather useful tips and tricks to enhance daily medical achievements.
You will teach others
Experience counts more than you may think. You may be surprised how many colleagues from across the globe face cases with medical conditions that are similar to your case. They may have a different diagnosis or treatment approach to consider. Presenting your own results can have a significant impact on the methods and practice of other orthopaedic surgeons and health care professionals. Therefore, you are encouraged to take this opportunity to talk about your observations in a specific context and share new clinical considerations that others can implement for a given diagnosis.
You will improve your practice
One of the most important purposes of EFORT is the harmonization of medical guidelines and clinical standards throughout Europe. Guidelines for specific conditions or procedures prevalent in a given field would support your decision-making processes in patient care. The extensive exchange between experts from different countries that occurs at the EFORT Annual Congress can contribute to the development of systematic reviews of clinical evidence — the main source for evidence-based care. Evaluate all the different orthopaedic practices within Europe and identify some common recommendations and standard treatments to better shape your practice in the future.
Because you will connect with others
At the Congress, it is possible to expand your professional network by connecting with the orthopaedics and trauma scientific community and directly talking to colleagues and professional practitioners within your field of expertise. Explore potential solutions together with experts who face clinical problems similar to yours or exchange opinions with experts who have initiated well-established treatments. It is also possible to have a dialogue or debate with international health care specialists to revise research concepts and learn how to better develop your findings into meaningful research publications. The meeting is an opportunity to have your work selected for oral presentation in the same session with that of eminent physicians in orthopaedics and to gain recognition from peers.
You will contribute to patient care
EFORT is the biggest European platform in which orthopaedic and trauma knowledge is shared and your research should be part of the leading scientific data that emerge. The EFORT scientific sessions are training programs with high scientific value. Authors invited to contribute to the scientific content of the Congress by presenting their work orally adhere to the same standards and their contributions are considered vital. Therefore, submit an abstract for the chance to be part of the program for the 2017 Congress as a specialist who seeks to foster and restore the mobility, musculoskeletal health and quality of life for the European population.
If you have an innovative, previously unpublished work worthy to be widely disseminated, follow the guidelines for abstract submission. Be sure to submit your abstract(s) before Sunday 13 November 2016, 23:59 CET.
Abstracts are not only evaluated according to their scientific and clinical accuracy, but also on medical relevance, originality of the work and any added value it provides to the orthopaedic and trauma community. Make your research be part of the solution.
