ISASS names new board member

The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery recently named neurological spine surgeon Domagoj Coric, MD, as a member of its board of directors.

According to a press release from the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery (ISASS), Coric has been part of the organization since 2007 and was the overall program chair for the society’s 2016 annual meeting. He is also a section editor for International Journal of Spine Surgery and is on the board of International Advocates for Spine Patients.

“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve on the ISASS board,” Coric said in the release. “I have dedicated my career to enhancing quality treatment options for spine patients through research and superior clinical care; I am fully dedicated to the ISASS mission of advancing major evolutionary steps in spine surgery.”

According to the release, Coric is a past president of the Southern Neurosurgical Society and the North Carolina Spine Society. He is also a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS). He is an executive committee member of the Joint Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves of AANS and CNS.
