DePuy Synthes strikes agreement with Materialise for 3-D printed titanium implants

DePuy Synthes announced its agreement with Materialise, a leader in 3-D printing, to offer TRUMATCH titanium 3-D printed implants that will be used in facial and skull disorders.
With the addition of personalized titanium 3-D printed implants, DePuy Synthes can offer for the first time a personalized total solution for orthognathic surgery and other craniofacial indications, one that integrates virtual surgical planning, intraoperative patient-specific tools and personalized implants to help surgeons achieve their goals for accuracy and patient outcomes. The designed implants are based on a CT scan of the patient’s skull and will part of the DePuy Synthes TRUMATCH CMF Solutions, according to a company press release.
“The agreement with Materialise will enable us to continue to bring more personalized solutions to the marketplace furthering our ability to improve patient care,” Elmar Zurbriggen, vice president of DePuy Synthes in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said in the release.
