In recent years EFORT as European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and the Chinese Orthopaedic Association started a very fruitful cooperation.
One highlight was that China was guest nation at the EFORT Congress 2012 in Berlin. Another highlight was that at the 2012 Chinese Orthopaedic Association (COA) Congress, COA President Prof. Yan Wang initiated the founding of the World Orthopaedic Alliance (WOA) – which was one of the most important highlights of last year’s Congress.
It was a great honour that EFORT Past President Prof. Wolfhart Puhl was invited to become a founding member of this society and thereby represent EFORT worldwide as one of the most important orthopaedic societies.
EFORT was invited to organize a Tribology Symposium which will be embedded in the arthroplasty session of the COA/WOA Congress on 9 November in Beijing. It is a great honor for me as one of the chairmen and as organizer of this Tribology Session to welcome both Presidents – Prof. Yan Wang of COA and Manuel Cassiano Neves of EFORT to this symposium.
This symposium is focused on the most challenging topics in total hip arthroplasty related to tribology. Well known experts agreed to take part in this symposium, which promises to deliver a high scientific quality for the attendees. I am looking forward to this outstanding event.
Welcome in China,
